HR Generalist

DescriptionGiovanni Foods is seeking an HR Generalist to join our team! The HR Generalist will be responsible carrying out responsibilities in the following areas including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, benefits, leave of absence, employee relations and employee life cycle oversight.

A positive and flexible mindset coupled with a hunger to learn and grow is a must! Duties and Responsibilities Recruiting & Onboarding Recommend and implement recruiting practices designed to provide sufficient qualified staff to meet agreed upon staffing numbers.
Ensure the Company has an orientation program that allows new employees, and current employees who move into a new position, to effectively assimilate into their positions.
Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Coordinate and manage onboarding process for all new hires.
Employee Relations Provide excellent customer experience by responding to inquiries timely to meet company standards.
Effectively manages and resolves basic and complex employee relations issues through conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations as necessary in a timely and responsive manner.
Ability to assess credibility and draw conclusion.
Communicate appropriately to all involved parties.
Provide detailed, thorough documentation.
Handles complex employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Counsel with employees and management as appropriate, investigate potential employee complaints, and resolve in a manner that minimizes Giovanni's legal liability.
Human Resource Policies and Compliance Process all new hires and terminations meeting all compliance deadlines.
Process unemployment paperwork in a timely fashion.
Maintain employee filing system.
Maintain company compliance bulletin board with mandatory state and federal postings, audit semi-annually and as laws change Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Perform all other duties as requested by management.
Payroll & HRIS Administration Attendance Tracking - manage call ins/follow up/determine if need for leave is appropriate Administer attendance program including accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
Accurately process/audit weekly payroll and maintain HR and Payroll records information.
Manage schedules in HRIS system.
Process all temporary employee information for proper time reporting to agency.
Ensure invoice accuracy and submit to accounting for processing.
Respond to employee payroll and paycheck questions escalating to proper personnel when necessary.
Ensure compliance with federal/state payroll regulations.
Accurately process income withholding orders.
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
HRIS analysis and implementation of system capabilities to meet business needs.
Leave of Absence Management Process employee request leaves of absences and meet with those who are out of work for more than 1 week.
Administer and monitor all leaves including FMLA, DBL, WC, PFL, ADA.
Communicate change of status to HR, employee's Dept and Carrier.
Benefits Administration Complete annual benefits analysis and recommendation for open enrollment for internal review and approval.
Benefits administration including new enrollments, benefit changes, cancellations, COBRA enrollments and monthly benefits billing reconciliation.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations Ensure all internal customers (employees) are communicated to in a timely and effective manner with regard to changes in benefits, including open enrollments.
Conduct annual open enrollment Conduct monthly enrollment meetings with newly eligible employees for benefits and 401kEnsure compliance with applicable regulations.
Work with benefits vendors and other to ensure maintenance and timely completion of plan documents and appropriate reports, ERISA and otherwise.
Timely process medical support orders.
RequirementsEducation Requirements Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional certification preferred.
Previous Experience Requirement Previous experience successfully managing multiple projects and priorities while consistently meeting established deadlines.
Demonstrated experience maintaining a high degree of confidentiality required.
Recruiting an onboarding experience required and training and payroll/benefits experience preferred.
Previous experience with UKG/Kronos or ADP preferred.

Great PC skills, including Microsoft Office (at a minimum, Word and Excel) Must be efficient in the use of general office equipment to include multi-line telephone system, photocopy/facsimile machine, and calculator.
Recommended Skills Administration Attention To Detail Auditing Billing Business Requirements Confidentiality Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
